As they say, no man is an island. When I first heard that expression as a young girl I was confused. As I matured I realized the saying was gospel. No matter how good we are at what we do, there is always something that we don’t know. This is where we need to humble ourselves and ask for help. There’s no shame in surrounding yourself with experts in their field. In fact it is how successful men and women gain their success. Nobody can bring everything to the table.
Sometimes we feel as if we are stuck in our environment or that our destinies are pre-determined, but I think we all have choices. Your destiny is tied to the road you choose to take. You can always change where you’re going. Look at life like a GPS system. When you are lost, simply recalculate your route.
Sometimes it is easy for people to forget about themselves, always giving to others. In some instances this causes the giver to be taken for granted. I am here to tell you that if you fall into this category, your feelings, wants and needs are valid and should never be ignored. It is fine to help others, but always remember to refuel and refresh your own spirit or you will be no use to the others you love to help. #mm
This week I want to stress the importance of do overs. People make mistakes all of the time, but our quest for perfection leads us to believe we shouldn’t. I’m here to tell you that failing is normal. Picking yourself up and trying again is what separates successful people from failures. Don’t be afraid to try as many times as necessary to get it right. #mm
Since there was a three day holiday, today is our UN-official Monday. There’s a quote by Dr. Seuss that says “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” I have lived most of my life by this quote, even before I knew it existed.
