Today’s prompt for my 31 Day Movie Challenge is:
‘Top 5 War Movies’
I tend to say that I don’t like war movies. I try to resist watching them, but once I actually sit down and turn one on, I can’t deny the fact that they are awesome. I was going to include ‘Born On the Fourth of July’ because technically it is a war movie, but in my mind it is a post war drama and I couldn’t include it in this list even though I really love this movie. That being said here are my top five favorite war movies of all time.
There you have it Lovies. Drop me a comment and let me know your faves and remember…
Great list (except 300)! Platoon was my favourite film of all time for many, many years.
Persia what’s wrong with 300?
I just did not like it. Over the top CGI. Over the top acting. It was not good…
Have to agree with Persia on this one. Over-hyped imo. But we like what we like.
That’s cool Joanne however I still loved it and the sequel too. Lol
Not a fan of war movies either (usually watch them years after they’ve been out when I’m too lazy to look for the remote) so I have no explanation for the fact that when I thought of it, I actually came up with a lot of war movies that I actually liked. From Here to Eternity, Inglorious Basterds, Fury, Black Hawk Down, Schindler’s List-Saving Private Ryan (tie) – with (also rans) including Hotel Rwanda, A Soldier’s Story, A Mighty Heart, The Hurt Locker, Glory, Legends of the Fall, and war comedies and musicals like Private Benjamin, South Pacific, To Be or Not to Be (the Mel Brooks/Anne Bancroft version), Swing Shift… hitting the pause button. Still don’t like war movies 🙂
You are too funny. I don’t know why we say we don’t like them, but can find a long list of war movies we like and have watched more than once. Go figure. Lol
