25 DAYS OF Christmas – Day 3 A Charlie Brown Christmas

Day 3 of the Christmas Movie Challenge is focused on Charlie Brown Christmas. Peanuts was a favorite of mine growing up so I always enjoy the holiday specials staring Charlie Brown and the gang.

Hi gang, my name is Linus van Pelt and I live in the land of Peanuts. My best friend Charlie Brown and I are getting ready to celebrate Christmas, but there’s one problem; I am sick and tired of the commercialization of Christmas. No one seems to know the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate every year. During rehearsals for the Christmas Pageant we decided Charlie Brown should select a very beautiful Christmas Tree. However, everyone got mad at Charlie Brown when he chose a scrawny Christmas tree. They all started acting out so I decided to enlighten my peers with the following speech from the Luke 2:8-14.
The True Meaning of Christmas

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round and about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men.”

From that point on everyone changed their attitudes and we had a great celebration in song.
